Many teachers may have crossed your path that just need to retire. In urban communities their worn out, can’t relate to new generation of children, and have no drive to teach anymore. The question of: Should teachers have senority advantages during layoffs? My answer: Not at all. Who ever performs the best. Just because you’ve taught for ages, doesn’t mean your teaching methods are effective with your students.  The primary reasons that US children are not at the same status as countries we consider ourselves more dominant than, is because of our teachers. This just does not include failure to teach material, but the lack of backing they have by parents, community, county and state government, and most importantly PAY!!! New teachers that are innovative and in touch with younger students may be more beneficial to schools.
