No4Corners Introduces LILLY RENEE

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it. Please don’t leave me, I love you and I need you. I promise it will never happen again.”

These are some of the familiar words used to keep me coming back for more. Year after year, time after time, no matter how strong I felt on the outside. I was afraid, broken & torn on the inside.

Mama always told my sister & me that “love shouldn’t hurt”, but growing up seeing daddy & mommy argue, fuss & fight, it became hard to know the true definition of what love should be. My mother built the strength when I was very young to leave her abusive marriage. But seeing her cover up the scars of her battered past, was a constant reminder that in fact sometimes love can hurt. As I think about my journey I can’t help but fight back tears that beg to flow as if they carry their own story. I swallow my pride as I share this, and I pray some young woman will learn from the harsh realities of my past.

March 8th, 2010

I Watched “Ever After: A Cinderella Story” for the up-tenth time in my life and every time is new, exciting, and funny. It’s an adaptation of the traditional cinderalla story, but with a realistic twist. Drew Barrymore is beyond perfect and innocent as ‘Danielle’, a bold, courages woman, who cares for everyone and bows to no one.  If you haven’t seen ‘Ever After’ yet, It’s a must see!  I wouldn’t exactly pop this movie in with your dude, but i’m pretty sure he’ll feel it too! SUPPORT EDUCATION: NO Budget Cuts

March 5th, 2010

Fed up with budget cuts, layoffs and rising tuition, thousands of students and educators took to the streets across the country Thursday, staging demonstrations in more than 100 locations and at every level of education from kindergarten to college.

At UC Davis, about 350 protesters marched down Old Davis Road and confronted scores of law enforcement officers who kept them from walking onto Interstate 80 by swinging batons and shooting pepper balls. A CHP officer attempted to use a Taser on at least one student, but the device appeared to malfunction. One student was arrested but quickly cited and released.

Protesters then blocked the intersection of La Rue Road and Russell Boulevard before dispersing about 7:30 p.m., said Claudia Morain, UC Davis spokeswoman. Read the rest of this entry »
